El apagón comenzó sobre las cinco de la tarde (hora peninsular española), y el servicio no empezó a reanudarse hasta alrededor de la medianoche, aunque a esa hora algunos usuarios seguían experimentando dificultades.

El director de Tecnología de Transparent Edge Services, Diego Suárez, aribuyó la caída a un posible problema de DNS: “Sin estos registros, los navegadores y apps no saben ‘encontrar’ los servidores que entregan el contenido de las redes sociales”, apuntó el experto.

Suárez cree que se trata de cambios profundos en la infraestructura de la red social, ya que también se retiraron las rutas BGP, otro paso necesario para que los dispositivos accedan a las plataformas de la empresa estadounidense.
